This piece of rock started out buried under tons and tons of other rock, before being broken free into its own individual stand alone uniquely shaped and formed piece!
But it still wasn't beautiful yet although inside or just under the surface there lay something quite exquisite!!!
It wasn't a fast or easy process to extract that inner beauty, it required a lot of rubbing and friction to remove all the roughness of its former life! But even when it was rubbed smooth there was an even finer process required. Sometimes we try and polish ourselves to a perfect finish to early and we need to go back to the rubbing and friction again to remove smaller imperfections until at last!! After it all we are ready for the masters polish into what he sore us as from the beginning! The truth is he has always seen us as his shiny perfection and until we stop looking at our pits and flaws and accept that we were made to shine even when we are still rough! Even when we were under rock we are still a shiny delight in the making! Ours is to shine Gods is to refine!
We fight not against flesh and blood that's the rock we just need to see what God see's it's in the worst of the worst and the best of the best! It's in you and it's in me and if you look to anyone other than the author and perfectly then I suggest get ready for pain. He alone has the grace and patience and wisdom to polish you, if we look to Man without Gods patience you may find a very shiny rough stone that on the surface may still shine but never truly reach the perfection that God has for you. If you think about it, we need him through the Holy Spirit to teach us what man cannot as man is not perfection so could not create perfection. Don't get me wrong we need teaching and good teaching for sure but this is only a part of the journey that should lead us to the spirit who can finish the rubbing in the correct way for the individually unique piece of rock the father made.
So don't settle for being a shiny rough rock take yourself to the refiner and ask him to finish you how he had always intended to! If you don't the world will see your shinny outside while you see your bumps and hollows.
Wow who would have thought sitting and looking at a peace of stone would bring such depth!!!!
