The Soundscape Collection is a series of paintings by contemporary visual artist, Froyle Neideck, created from the inspiration of music. Beautiful, richly coloured abstract works of art, and what is unique about this collection is that each painting is accompanied with an original music score. Each painting, itself created by the inspiration of music, was then given to a musician to create the sound of the painting.
Each painting has sound created by different musicians, in different styles and through their own unique response to the art. Some of the musicians were inspired by the colour and texture of the paintings, while others created from their own interpretation of the art. These pieces are viewed with the addition of a headset and mp3 player, with which to listen to the sound of the painting. This is a moving and inspiring experience.
This experience of the art has a two fold effect; The colours capture the visual focus, while the sound fills the mind, taking the viewer on a journey of sight and sound. This combination of dual sensory stimulation causes an experience of heightened creativity and visual movement. The experience is completely unique to each individual viewer and for some it has been described as an 'awakening'.
